Terms and Conditions

Effective January 1, 2026

Thermal Bellingham Insulation Company, insulationbellingham.com, projects@insulationbellingham.com

Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you use this website or hire Thermal Bellingham Insulation Company for work at your home or business. When you browse the site, ask for an estimate or schedule a job with us, you agree to them, so if you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.

The written estimate or contract for your job can add to these terms. Where the two differ, the document you signed for your job wins.

Who we are and what we do

Thermal Bellingham Insulation Company is an insulation contractor based in Bellingham, WA. We insulate and air seal attics, walls, crawl spaces and basements, install spray foam and blown-in insulation, remove old insulation and put down vapor barriers for homes and commercial buildings in Bellingham and the cities around it.

You'll find each service described from our home page, and you can read more about our crew on our About page. Those descriptions are general. The exact scope of your job is what your estimate or contract lists, and work that isn't written there isn't included unless we both agree to it in writing.

Estimates and pricing

Our on-site estimates are free and come with no obligation. An estimate is our price for the work it describes, based on what we could see and reach in your attic, walls or crawl space on the day we came out.

Some things only show up once the job is open, like old insulation that's wet or full of droppings, damage in the framing, or gaps we couldn't get to. If we find something like that, we stop, show you what we found and tell you what it would cost to fix, and we don't do the extra work until you approve it.

An estimate stays good for the period written on it. After that, material prices can change, so we may need to update the price before we schedule. Anything on this website about cost is general information and not a quote for your job.

Scheduling, access and cancellation

We set a start date once you accept the estimate. Weather, material deliveries and what we find once the job is open can move that date, and we'll call you as soon as we know it's changed.

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area, a clear path to the attic hatch or crawl space entrance, and power if the job needs it. If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (360) 255-0276 as early as you can, because we may charge for materials ordered for your job or for a trip when the crew arrives and can't get in, as your contract allows.

Leaving the house and coming back in

Some work, spray foam especially, means you, your kids and your pets need to stay out of the house or the work area for a while afterward. Before we start, we'll tell you the re-entry time, which is when it's safe to come back inside, and you agree to follow it.

That time comes from the material maker's instructions for the product we're using, so it varies from job to job. We also ask that you move cars, stored items and anything fragile out of the way before the crew arrives.

Payment

Payment is due as your estimate or contract says. Some jobs need a deposit before we order materials, and the balance is usually due when the work is done and you've looked it over with us.

If a payment is late, we may pause any remaining work until it's settled. You're responsible for reasonable costs of collecting an overdue balance, to the extent Washington law allows.

Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover

Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something we installed isn't right, call us and we'll come back, look at it and fix any problem caused by our workmanship.

Insulation products carry whatever warranty their maker offers, and we pass that along to you. We don't promise a set drop in your power bill or a set comfort result, because those depend on your house, the weather and how the house is used.

The guarantee doesn't cover damage from roof leaks, plumbing leaks, pests, storms, or changes someone else makes after we leave. Beyond what's written here and in your contract, we make no other warranties, express or implied, to the extent the law allows.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and fully insured. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any claim tied to a job is limited to what you paid us for that job.

We aren't responsible for indirect losses, like lost income or higher energy costs, or for problems that were already in the house before we started, like mold, rot, pests or faulty wiring, unless our work caused them. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law doesn't allow a contract to remove.

Using this website

The information on this site is general and may not fit your house, so treat it as a starting point and not advice for your job. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't promise it's complete or up to date.

The words and images here belong to Thermal Bellingham Insulation Company and can't be copied for commercial use without our permission. Links to other websites are there for convenience, and we aren't responsible for what those sites say or do.

If we disagree

If you're unhappy with our work or a bill, call us first, because most problems get sorted out on a phone call or a return visit. If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before either of us goes to court.

If it does go to court, the case is to be filed in Whatcom County, Washington.

Which law applies

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. If a court finds any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and post the new version on this page. The version in place when you hire us is the one that applies to your job, and later changes don't alter a contract you've already signed.

Questions about these terms

If anything here isn't clear, call us at (360) 255-0276 or send a note through our Contact page, and we'll walk you through it.
